Bringing back the green ticks in C4D R25

The Cinema 4D R24 icons (Left) vs the R25 icons (Right)
The Cinema 4D R24 icons (Left) vs the R25 icons (Right)

This is a simple one. In the latest Cinema 4D R25, Maxon have switched the green “Active” button to a grey one. For some people, including me, this has made it a bit harder to glance at the object manager and immediately check for active deformers and objects. Here’s how to change it back (and as a bonus, here’s how to change any and every C4D icon!)

Go to:

📂
C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R25\Resource\Modules\c4dplugin\icons

Inside this folder, you will find a file called

🖼️
interface_icons_2x.tiff

Open it with any image editor. You will find the grey tick here:

On you image editor, you can colorize it, draw over or put a different icon over it. Save the file to your desktop, and then use it to replace the original.

⚠️
It’s always a good habit to rename the original file to something else instead of replacing it, just in case you ever need to go back to the defaults.
